Who We Are

In February of 1991, a group of 25 interested Fort Wayne companies got together to discuss the prospect of forming a Fort Wayne MBA Chapter. The idea was unanimously accepted, and the Northeast Chapter was chartered April 14, 1991. NEIMBA members include mortgage bankers, mortgage lenders, mortgage brokers, credit unions, commercial banks, savings and loans along with real estate finance service providers such as title companies, private mortgage insurance companies, credit companies, law firms, and other real estate service providers. We keep our members informed on current market developments and statistics related to real estate both in Indiana and across the country, and, provide networking and socializing opportunities with peers throughout the state.

The Northeast Chapter of the Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association encompasses the region from Marion in the south, Warsaw in the west, Michigan to the north, and Ohio to the east.

NEIMBA regularly puts on and supports events that benefit local charities, including; Mustard Seed, Deeds of Compassion, and Habitat for Humanity. Our Legislative Presence

Additionally, NEIMBA assures its membership a political presence in the state legislature and with our state regulators. The association is prepared to represent the interests of its members at any hearing on state legislation, or with any regulatory agency that may affect the real estate finance business in Indiana. Also, NEIMBA has been proactive in assisting in the drafting of legislation that promotes housing and sound practices in real estate lending as well as issues that impact it. To continue to support this political presence to our membership, a portion of the proceeds from a Chapter event may go to the IMBA PAC which serves to support state and local elected officials and candidates who have business philosophies and positions on issues that are in alignment with the mortgage lending industry. Our Educational Presence

NEIMBA aims to meet the educational needs of its membership by providing up-to-date information on regulatory changes as well as new products and services, and, the development of instructional courses that expand the knowledge base and scope of mortgage bankers. At our annual convention, as well as other workshops and programs scheduled throughout the year at our chapters, NEIMBA provides members and other attendees with an opportunity for sharing information and ideas with their peers throughout the state and nationwide, as well as networking.
